Mineral Spot: Calcite...

The last post was the orthorhombic form of calcium carbonate, aragonite. This time I have a picture of the trigonal form, calcite.

Calcite comes in many different crystal habits. Over 1,000 forms in fact. This is an almost globular form of calcite from Flinders in Victoria.

It is also another specimen that will be included in one of my auction lots next week at OZtion...
